"ANNIE" AUDITIONS

Sutton Theatre Company will be performing "Annie" from Tuesday 31st March until Saturday 4th April 2009 at the Secombe Theatre in Sutton.

We are looking for girls aged 7 to 15 who are able to sing, dance and act.

Two groups of girls will be chosen, one group will perform on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening, the other group on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday matinee.

Audition Format

Auditions will be held at Cheam Parochial Rooms, The Broadway, Cheam Village SM3 8BD on Sunday 23rd November. Timings are as follows:

• 3pm – 5.30pm Girls aged 7 to 10
• 6pm – 8.30pm Girls aged 11 to 15

Timings are approximate and we apologise in advance for any overrun. However we will want to give all the girls a fair chance. We regret that parents will not be able to remain with the girls during the audition.

We will audition for the two groups of girls and will then audition for the role of Annie from within the successful girls. This may take place during the following week.

There is an audition fee of £5.00 payable on the audition day and for the successful girls there will be a show fee of £15.00.

There is no need to pre register, just arrive at the appropriate time, register and pay on the day. However if there is a very large turnout on the day, we may have to restrict numbers. This is for Health and Safety reasons relating to hall capacity.

The girls will learn a song and some dance steps and then audition in small groups. They will need to sing and speak some lines by themselves.

The successful girls will be notified by letter during the week following the auditions. We are very sorry but we will be unable to contact those girls who are not successful but would like to thank them for coming along and trying. We hope that all the girls will enjoy the audition afternoon.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will start in the first week of December at the Parochial Rooms on Thursdays and/or Fridays, approximate timings from 7.30pm to 9pm. The girls playing Annie may need to rehearse until 10pm. There will be two Sunday afternoon rehearsals in March 2009. There will also be rehearsals on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th March at the theatre.

Once we have chosen our two teams of girls, we will be looking for some Mums to act as chaperones during the week of the show.
